Kurt Sutter at NAB, full Sons of Anarchy panel discussion (VIDEOS)
NAB hosted FX's hit series "Sons of Anarchy" as the showrunner Kurt Sutter and some members of his production team were there to discuss the show for 90,000+ attendees of the annual Industry event.
Kurt Sutter spoke plainly about the series' genesis and inside details on a panel titled "Sons of Anarchy: Grit and Texture in Small Town America."
Sutter, along with the show's director of photography, Paul Maibaum, and production designer, Anthony Medina, shared their creative vision and techniques they use to tell larger-than-life stories through the lens of an outlaw biker's club and the corrupt town they inhabit.
The panel was assembled at the NAB Show Content Theater, located in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, on Tuesday, April 12.
Sons of Anarchy stars Charlie Hunnam, Kim Coates, Ryan Hurst, Ron Perlman, William Lucking, Dayton Callie, Maggie Siff, Theo Rossi, Michael Marisi Ornstein, Winter Ave Zoli, Tommy Flanagan, Mark Boone Junior, Mitch Pileggi, Kurt Sutter (who plays Otto, a member of SAMCRO) and recent Golden Globe Award-winner Katey Sagal.
A perfectly cast ensemble machine, underscored with wickedly funny dark humor. Sutter weaves tales of Charming, California's SAMCRO, an outlaw motorcycle club (MC).

According to a new study released today by ListenLogic, a social media intelligence firm, 'Glee' and 'Sons of Anarchy' top list of shows with most involved viewers, while 'The Mentalist' and 'The Good Wife' come up short. By measuring social media conversations, ListenLogic's new television rating system, the Involved Viewer Ratings™, adds viewer engagement levels to traditional TV ratings and provides a more robust measurement of audience involvement.
"Social and mobile connectivity have completely changed the way viewers engage with TV shows," said Mark Langsfeld, Founder & CEO of ListenLogic. "Viewers are expressing their passions for TV programming like never before, while they're watching the show. We're using these unsolicited conversations to tap into a deeper level of viewer involvement and augment traditional TV ratings."

Broadway World Reviews: THE ESCORT is Fine Food for Thought @ the Geffen
The Escort
by Jane Anderson
directed by Lisa Peterson / Geffen Playhouse / through May 8

Three things may be said quite frankly about Jane Anderson's plays. First of all, the subject matter is never boring. In fact, what you see is bound to create controversy especially amongst those possessing middle class values. Secondly, the protagonist is a mixed bag of strength and insecurity, but in his (her) different perspective or lifestyle, he (she) bravely faces the consequences. Thirdly, there is usually a double standard for those pointing that ugly finger at the protagonist. What they think may be good for them may not be necessarily right for others to follow, or vice versa. Now at the Geffen The Escort lives up to all three, with four outstanding performances and superior direction from Lisa Peterson.
